Sleepover at Bella's. And as Bella was too busy 'studying' (bahaha) that night, I watched Tomorrow When The War Began, again. I forgot just how much I love this movie when I first watched it. But back then you weren't here (talking to le blog), so yeah, bear with me as I rant about this movie :D
The story is pretty simple to understand. Bunch of teenagers going camping, and when they came back, everything, everyone was gone. No, they weren't abducted nor were they being absorbed by a spaceship to the space. Let's just say there's been a war. So these average teenagers, left with no choice, had to make a move and fight back for whatever's left for them.
Why did I like this movie? Because mmm the casts did quite a good job. Well I have some issues with Lee, as he seemed ... stiff at times but meh, others were great so all is forgiven. And I love the scene where they had their final meeting before they burned that particular bridge down. Where they exchanged opinions about what to do ; 1) Stay low, do nothing and come out when the war ends (IF the war ends) 2) Save their families or maybe 3) Fight back with everything they got.
Why did I love this particular scene? Because of the different point of view. Robin, the religious one, said that she will fight but she will never kill or murder anyone. Fi the princess said that she will fight to but she's just worried that she might not be able to do anything if something bad were to happen. She's afraid that all she could do was scream. While Ally, the heroine, said something that made me ponder. She was thinking of fighting, too, but she made it clear that fighting was not 100% right. 'How many people is it okay to kill, in order to keep me alive?' Ok that question, Ally, boom! made me ponder. Supposed I were one of them, is my life really worth it that I think I have to kill 'bad people' to 'survive'? Am I that good and noble? Whatever have I done that makes me think I deserve to stay alive and kill those 'enemies'?
Ooooooookay now I'me being all hyped up just because of a bloody movie. Haha. Well at least now you know how my mind works when I watch movies. Back to the movie, well there were some flaws but errrrr nah I'll let those pass. And oh, there'll be a sequel I heard. Yay! If they turn this into tv series pun seems okay. It'll be like The Walking Dead, all about surviving and staying alive. No zombies though. Too bad :p
That'll be it. This is hardly a review but wooo, been a while kot since I last wrote this long about a movie. I must've really liked this one eh.
